Amid confusion over the official hashtag, Magic players and fans took to the tables and Twitter for Grand Prix Atlantic City. For the second week in a row, we got to see the return of some popular veteran players, including notable card designer, Zac Hill. Zac’s working knowledge of the cards he helped design helped him to ignore his lack of byes and finish just under the Top 32 with a 37th spot. Despite being easily one of the largest North American GPs, the finals came down to a rough mirror match between Josh Utter-Leyton and Jon Stern. This despite a diverse Top 8, including some sweet mono-red action and a Nightshade Peddler deck. A mulligan for Stern set him at a huge disadvantage, but somehow he managed to recover in the next two games, netting the championship. Luck of the Canadians–that’s the saying, right?
Good luck to everyone competing in #GPAtCity, and even more luck to those staying in Jersey for that long. 😉— Dave (@AvatarOfBro) January 11, 2013

So we've got Zac Hill playing in a GP with cards he helped design and develop? Should be interesting. #gpatcity— The Inane Rambler (@WhateverTheFeel) January 12, 2013
